Pokemon Rumble was released as a WiiWare title November 16th, 2009 for 1500 Wii Points, and there is also a demo available for download. If you are a My Nintendo member you will also receive an email with the code for a special charizard after your purchase, I'm not sure how long that will happen for but as far as I am aware the code is the same for everyone in north america [7968-4528] and you can also get a code for mew [9561-8808] from the Pokemon Rumble website, and they'll have more codes released in the future. You can also get a bunch of codes for new pokemon from gamefaqs but they all will only work once per save file.

Gameplay starts with a toy Pokemon (Rattata) powered by a "Wonder Key" which tries to fight in the battle royale after slipping through the gate. Of course, it fails miserably and that sets you off on your mission to become the champion. As you fight through the different levels, you will befriend new Pokemon randomly which you can use to fight in place of the Rattata you start with. At the end of each level is a large boss Pokemon to defeat, which seems to be powered by an evil looking wonder key. When you befriend a strong enough Pokemon you will be allowed entry to the battle royale, which is a large arena with electric walls, and a few waves of Pokemon to defeat before a few stronger ones show up. All you have to do is survive until the end. You can have up to three Pokemon faint in any level or the battle royale before you run out of wonder keys and fail.

The game starts in normal mode where you can befriend any of the 151 first generation pokemon (you can obtain mew through the password) after clearing all four ranks you will be given the option of playing in advanced mode, which includes pokemon from the fourth generation (387 to 492) though none of the pokemon you obtain can be used outside of Pokemon Rumble. A good way of obtaining new pokemon is releasing five of the same, which will give you a ticket for the next form of it's evolution (or if it's got three forms and you release five of it's last form, you will get a ticket for the first form). The gameplay is simple and fun, and although abit repetitive it's definitely worth getting.
