So work was pretty quiet last night, due to the fact that overnight we bacame surrounded by water. I got a ride to work at 10:30 pm because it was raining, and there was a pretty big puddle on the corner outside the store's parking lot, but the outside lanes of the road were clear still. There were still customers coming in but they came in less frequently as the night went on. Eventually at 6:30 a customer with a truck came in and made a comment about people needing to buy trucks instead of closing the road (because he had gotten there in a truck) and shortly after that I phoned my boss to let him know the road was closed, which he had found out by the police road blocks. So I was told to shut everything down, lock the doors and bring the store key to the highway 7-eleven, so I went out, took a few pictures (my boss's boss requested that I email them, I was going to take pictures either way) then I took off my shoes and socks, and pulled up my pant-legs and started walking through the water. After about 5 minutes in the freezing cold water, which was up to my knees at it's deepest, I got to one of the police road blocks, took off my sweatshirt and dried off my feet. The police asked if I was the 7-eleven worker and made sure everything was alright with me and the store. After that I headed to the highway store (about a 15 minute walk, which helped to warm my toes up again) and I gave the key to my boss and he drove me home, and he said he'd call me later today so I know if I will be working or not. For now I'll be sleeping.
The last photo, has ripples in the water, which were from a small kayak which had just gone straight into the person's garage as I was taking pictures.
